About the Event

M.E., Inc., is a 501(c)3 organization in Cleveland, OH that provides programs such as our P.E.A.R.L. (Precious. Empowered. Achieved. Ladies) Academy, a teen support group for girls 13-18 This program is to help increase positive self-imagery, positive body-imagery, increase emotional intelligence, set personal and physical boundaries, reduce incidences of teen pregnancy, and increase the number of girls who graduate from high school and pursue secondary education or job creation. The objective is that girls will have an expanded view of possibilities and opportunities outside of their low-income communities. The program is designed to empower teens to live and work with integrity, power, and diligence while developing emotional, educational, and mental growth. We also reach this goal with programs that include mentoring, provide second chances for troubled students, tutoring, ACT/SAT, and graduation preparation. Motivated and Empowered will also offer enrichment activities like music, dance, and a STEM curriculum.

To help make our first fundraiser of 2021 a success, we need your help. In our efforts to raise funds for our programs, scholarship fund, and other resources we provide we will be hosting a raffle to raise $2,000. To help fund our programs, we are asking that you purchase a ticket.

M.E. opens a world of possibilities and hope to girls who may be struggling in different areas of life and provide them with hope in areas they may be experiencing limitations in life and daily activities. Thousands of studies have examined the correlates and consequences of low-income youth, self-esteem, and social problems (Baumeister, Smart, and Boden-1996). They found teen girls from low-income communities face low self-esteem, numerous social problems, low interest in education, and have no aspiration to pursue job opportunities that could change their economic circumstances. response to failure, disappointment, anxiety, and impaired motivation. They found that an improved self-concept improved performance, which in turn enhanced the self-concept.
